The projects on this page are proof that if you Dream it, Ridgetop Contracting can Build it!
Butterfly House
We were excited to be a part of this award winning custom home built by Falcon Homes. Known as the Butterfly House, it was the recipient of a 2012 Georgie Award for the Best Master Suite and Ovation Awards for Best New Kitchen, Best Custom Home over $2 million, and Best Special Feature for the Curved Glass Elevator.
Ken Kelleway was contracted by Falcon Homes to manage the concrete, steel & wood framing for this technical marvel. Ken was instrumental in bringing this feat of engineering & design to completion, working closely with the General Contractor and their Site Manager, as well as engineers and all the other trades involved.
Ken & his crew of talented carpenters worked tirelessly on this project taking 7 months to complete the foundation and framing construction, with the roof on. Another nine months were spent working on the all the detail work and to see it to completion.
Innovative methods were used to form curved details on the ceilings so that duct-work and electrical could be concealed. Nineteen foot tall curved foundation walls, a round elevator shaft with a glass & steel stairwell topped with a domed skylight, a 100 foot long curved indoor lap pool, curved glass walls - this project left no room for error as every detail depended on the structural base being perfect.

Private Bridges
If you have a difficult property to access due to a ravine or small river, we can help you out. Working together with Peak Engineering & Envirowest Consultants, we have built 3 private timber bridges in the Lower Mainland. One of those is featured below.
North Alouette River, Maple Ridge
Our most recent project was for a young couple in Maple Ridge whose farm was split by the North Alouette River. They had to put their horses into a trailer and follow city roads in order to access the 7 acres of pasture at the back of their property.
Ken designed and built for them a covered timber bridge that spanned over 70 feet, allowing them to walk their horses and other livestock across the river.
As an added bonus, the new bridge was ready in time for them to host their wedding on the property, providing a perfect setting for their wedding photos.

Unique Home Construction
Having been in the industry for 30+ years, Ken has built a LOT of homes! One of the most interesting he was involved with was located in Pender Harbor and required the delivery of materials by Helicopter…The homeowner was a skilled carpenter, but the delivery logistics and the complicated structure was beyond her abilities.
Once the walls and roof were put in place, the home was finished by the owner and her husband over a few summers. Now they sit on their deck and watch the whales and orcas swim by.
